Save Rez Dogs: Innovative Approaches to Increasing Community Safety

May 28, 2024 @ 10:00 am. - 11:30 am.

This webinar, presented by the organization Save Rez Dogs, will provide information on the impact of the Indian Act and traditional historical context on animal welfare in First Nations communities, what ethical animal welfare is, and most importantly, how this is a human problem, not a dog problem. The goal of this presentation is to help shift the discourse about rez dogs and reframe the challenges so that people understand their role in community readiness in preventing harm.
