STBBI Stigma: A Barrier to Care

This webinar will:
  • Explore the concept of stigma specific to sexually transmitted and blood borne infections
  • Discuss how stigma actively inhibits participation in health-focused behaviours related to sexual health
  • Introduce strategies to identify bias/stigma in one’s personal practice along with strategies for actively deconstructing and reducing STBBI stigma in a clinical setting

Erin is a social worker, educator, and consultant, who has spent her career working in the areas of health, education, and community development. Erin’s work focuses on promoting accessible, inclusive, and trauma-informed approaches to care and support.

Originally from Treaty 4 Territory in Southwest Saskatchewan, she and her wife have called Treaty 6 Territory and Homeland of the Métis (Saskatoon, SK) home for over 20 years.
