This workshop is designed as a foundational overview of syphilis for front-line service providers working in community-based organizations that serve priority populations. As rates of syphilis have risen sharply in recent years, service providers play an important role in increasing awareness and facilitating access to prevention, testing and treatment services. The goal of this workshop is to provide fundamental knowledge about syphilis so that front-line providers are better equipped to speak to their clients about syphilis and provide support in syphilis care. Participants will learn the basics of what syphilis is, how it is passed and prevented, signs and symptoms, and the importance of testing and treatment. This workshop is designed to be interactive, allowing attendees to participate in discussions to contextualize how to apply this knowledge in their work.
