Coping with the Body Image Blues
Teenagers are bombarded with images in the media that make them feel insecure about their own bodies. Using a mix of dramatic vignettes, humorous animation, and student interviews, this program analyzes how a bad self-image can damage self-esteem. The video and the activities in the teacher’s resource book reinforce the importance of building a personal identity that is not based on how one’s body does or does not measure up to unrealistic images presented by popular media.
