Dr. Brandon McDaniel

Dr. Brandon McDaniel works in Human Development and Family Studies, Pennsylvania State University. He is also a research scientist at the Parkview Mirro Center for Research and Innovation, an adjunct clinical assistant professor of Pediatrics at Indiana University School of Medicine Fort Wayne campus, and a nationally recognized expert on the impacts of technology use on relationships, families, and children.

Dr. McDaniel’s research on technoference, the interference of device use in our face-to-face interactions and family relationships, has attracted international attention. He has published more than 60 scholarly articles related to technology use, parenting, family relationships, and more. His research and work with parents centered around their device use and developing healthy digital habits has been funded by the National Institute of Health, USA. Dr. McDaniel regularly engages in community education in the promotion of healthy digital habits.
