Dr. Linzi Williamson, PhD

Dr. Linzi Williamson (PhD, CE) is dedicated to helping people improve their relationships with humans and animals. At present, she is a Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR)-funded postdoctoral researcher and credentialed evaluator who examines various aspects of human-animal interactions. Linzi has also conducted research on abortion, sexual consent, the #MeToo movement, infertility, feminist identification, and sex education which have been published in the Canadian Journal of Sexual Health, Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Canada, and Journal of Reproductive and Infant Psychology. Her contributions to the sexual health community have included volunteering with Planned Parenthood Waterloo Region (now the SHORE Centre), Planned Parenthood Toronto, Saskatoon Sexual Health, Saskatoon Sexual Assault and Information Centre, and Ness Creek Music Festival’s SafeNess SafeHaven, as well as serving as Interim Executive Director and board member for Saskatoon Sexual Health. She has also taught Human Sexuality for the Department of Psychology at the University of Saskatchewan. As a consultant for the Saskatchewan Prevention Institute since 2014, Linzi has produced over 15 technical reports and helped establish the Adolescent Sexual Health Community of Practice. Outside of research, evaluation, and teaching, Linzi trains her beloved Australian Cattle Dog, Steve Irwin.
