FASD Prevention Program Coordinator

The Saskatchewan Prevention Institute is seeking a full-time (1 FTE) FASD Prevention Program Coordinator to cover an 18-month maternity leave beginning July 8, 2026.

Specific Accountabilities

The FASD Prevention Program Coordinator carries out these responsibilities in consultation and collaboration with the other members of the FASD Prevention Team, the Saskatchewan Prevention Institute’s programs, and core staff.

The Program Coordinator will be part of a team that is accountable for:

  • coordination of primary prevention activities throughout Saskatchewan to increase awareness and knowledge of the causes and factors related to FASD
  • coordination of activities to increase awareness and knowledge of prevention of the adverse impacts of prenatal alcohol exposure among young children (0-6 years)
  • coordination, support, and continued development of the Motivational Interviewing network of trainers
  • coordination of activities to increase capacity of youth and adult allies in addressing alcohol-related harms and the issues youth face

Required Qualifications and Experience

A university degree is required. Relevant areas of study may include but are not limited to, education, public health, social work, or nursing. University degrees in other fields will be considered with 3+ years of experience in a relevant sector (e.g., health, education, justice, or social services).

Experience using evidence-based information in decision making and resource development is also required.

Willingness and ability to travel throughout the province to meet program objectives, including having a valid Saskatchewan driver’s license. Travel for this position occurs 2-3 times a month and requires some overnight stays.

Preference will be given to candidates who have:

  • training and experience in Motivational Interviewing and brief intervention
  • an understanding of, and practice in, the use of social media and technology-based tools
  • experience with facilitation, training, and professional development provision in virtual and in-person settings

  • Salary Range:
    The salary range for this position is 54,000 – 58,000 with the starting salary dependent on experience and qualifications.

Accountant

The Saskatchewan Prevention Institute is seeking accounting expertise with a part-time Accountant position available to begin immediately. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Accountant will be responsible for the accurate, timely, and effective recording, monitoring, filing, and reporting of all the financial records of the Saskatchewan Prevention Institute.

The position is located in an office environment in Saskatoon.

Specific Accountabilities

The Accountant works with the Executive Director and Prevention Institute staff to prepare, monitor, and report on core and program budgets and finances.

Accomplishing this involves the following accountabilities:

  • Budgeting and Financial Reporting
  • Financial Audit (internal preparation and work with external auditor)
  • Payroll, Benefits, and Remittances
  • Financial Management
  • Relationships (Internal and External)
  • Expertise and Skill (including proficiency with SAGE 300, understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, and others required by the position)

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A post-secondary degree, certificate, or diploma in a related discipline, such as Accounting or Finance, is required
  • 3+ years’ experience in accounting or financial management
  • Proficiency with SAGE 300, Microsoft Office, including Excel, and Microsoft Outlook

Preference will be given to candidates who have the following:

  • Experience in preparing financial statements and reports, including detailed variance analysis; preparing corporate tax returns; preparing payroll; completing reconciliations and journal entries
  • Experience providing financial and accounting support to multiple staff for the purposes of budget management
  • Previous work in the not-for-profit or charitable sector is an asset for the position

  • The Saskatchewan Prevention Institute requires the submission of a satisfactory criminal record check prior to employment.

    Salary Range

    The salary range is $60,000 to $75,750 (prorated to 0.5 FTE), with the starting salary dependent on experience and qualifications.

Research and Evaluation Specialist

Reporting to the Research and Evaluation Lead and Executive Director, the Specialist is responsible for collaborating on and implementing research and evaluation activities at the Saskatchewan Prevention Institute. The Specialist will conduct this work for the following programs: Sexual and Reproductive Health Program and Child Injury Prevention Program.

The Research and Evaluation Specialist will work closely with the other members of the Research and Evaluation Team and other staff on a regular basis.

The position is located in Saskatoon, SK.

Specific Accountabilities

Reporting to the Research and Evaluation Lead and Executive Director, the Specialist is specifically accountable for:

  • Review of Research and Evidence

  • Skills and Expertise (such as best practices for research and evaluation activities and implementing principles of harm reduction and health equity)
