Helping Young People Develop Porn Literacy

Dr. Marty Klein has been researching and lecturing about Internet pornography for two decades. This webinar will address the following questions:

  • How does pornography affect young people?
  • What is porn literacy? How do we help kids develop it?
  • Why not just tell kids to stay away from porn?
  • Realistically, what should parents and professionals be concerned about? What do we not need to worry about?
  • What about sexting?
  • What do parents need to do before talking with young people about pornography? What do professionals need to do before talking with parents about it?
  • What is the single most important thing about porn to emphasize with kids?

About:

Dr. Marty Klein has been a California-Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and Certified Sex Therapist for over 35 years. Marty has written seven books, published in a dozen languages, acclaimed by everyone from USA Today and The Journal of Sex Research to Penn & Teller and the Playboy Advisor. His current book is His Porn, Her Pain, which received a rave review from the American Journal of Sexuality Education.

Marty has given over 1,000 keynotes and training programs on various clinical and sexuality topics, including all-day seminars to the British Columbia Psychological Association and the Alberta Society for the Promotion of Sexual Health. Marty’s Psychology Today blog and Sexual Intelligence e-newsletter are widely quoted. Marty recently gave two U.S. Congressional briefings on evidence-based sex education.
