The Saskatchewan Prevention Institute began offering Motivational Interviewing (MI) trainings in 2012 to service providers across Saskatchewan. Due to a high level of interest and uptake, the SK MI Trainers’ Group was created to meet training demands and increase the Institute’s capacity.

The MI Train-the-Trainer Workshop is a comprehensive program designed to equip participants with the facilitation techniques required to deliver MI trainings. The workshop schedule includes:

• Three-hour virtual training sessions on November 19, 21, 26, 28, December 3, 5, 10 & 12, 2024
• Two-hour virtual coaching sessions on January 7, 9 & 14, 2025
• In-Person Train-the-Trainer Workshop on January 21-24, 2025, in Saskatoon

Deadline to submit registration form and audio recording is October 28, 2024. Please note that only applicants who submit an audio recording demonstrating their understanding and use of MI will be considered.

Participants who complete this training are eligible to be admitted into the SK MI Trainers’ Group. Members of this group may be contracted by the Prevention Institute to provide MI trainings.
